About a month ago, I am sure most of you know by now, I graduated from Penn State. To say my parents were proud would be an understatement. The week leading up to my graduation, my dad’s excitement certainly showed on Facebook. To say I am blessed to have the greatest parents would also be an understatement. My parents were such a huge support system of mine throughout my four years at Penn State. Without them there are some days I am not sure how I would have made it through. But my support system does not stop there.
I am going to use my blog opportunity on the Carl’s Cards website to thank each and every one of you. I have had a great opportunity of meeting and being embraced by so many customers of the store. Some of you I have just met recently and others have watched me grow up.
When I was younger, spending Saturdays in the store, while my dad did shows or going along with him to shows was not my ideal day. But as I have gotten older, I have really started to appreciate this store and all my parents have put into it. I started to work their on Saturdays when I was in high school to make some extra money. And then as I moved on to Penn State Brandywine, I would work whenever I had some extra time. I started with Facebook and updating the website. Making the tickets for the autograph signings and the flyer. Then as Twitter became popular I started that too. Most of the time when you Facebook or Tweet us, it is me answering you. I do my very best to respond as quickly as I can and if I do not know the answer, your question gets directed right to Carl. Other times he is faster than I am and answers before I even see it.
When I moved up to University Park my involvement in the store changed a little bit. I still updated Facebook and Twitter almost everyday, but I was not in the store nearly as much. I watched as my dad worked so incredibly hard to bring in some of the biggest players in their sport. I was so proud to be apart of such a great business. There are not many genuine and decent mom and pop shops around anymore and to think I am apart of the greatest one there is, is truly an honor.
It was incredible when I was able to make it home for a signing on the weekends and to see the amount of interest and care some of the customers would show. I want to thank each and every one of you who asked how school was, when I would be done, asked when I would be home again, reminding me not to forget you all when I become a famous sports reporter or congratulating me on graduating.
It has been an epic ride and the future seems bright with people like you supporting me. As I take on the real world now, I will try and update you all as much as I can on how things are going. But for now I have an internship back up at Penn State for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts which is until mid July. So I will be back and forth a lot. If you want to follow me on Twitter, @lah_psu, that is probably a better place to hunt me down. But until then make sure you follow @carlscards and join the Carl’s Cards & Collectibles group on Facebook!

You all have been so kind to me and I cannot thank you enough!
