The City of Schenn Brotherly Love

We have never had two players at one time for only one hour. There was uncertainty on our end about how this would play out. We knew how many people we could process in that time frame and that’s what we went with.
As the people started to line up we knew that it was going to be busy, fast and good. From 6-7 p.m., Luke and Brayden met, greeted and signed autographs for the biggest of Flyers fans. From the littlest fan to the one that remembers the Stanley Cup Championship seasons, they all came out to see another set of Flyers Brothers cross through this franchise.
We’ve had a father and son autograph signing with John Mayberry Sr. and Jr., we’ve had two best friends together for an autograph signing with Max Tablot and Bruno Gervais and now we’ve had two brothers. It was pretty intriguing to see how alike they are in person. Yet Brayden is right-handed and Luke is left-handed.
It’s cool to have them on the same team and it’s interesting to see some fans gravitate towards Brayden and some towards Luke. Either way, it was another unique signing for us and we’re glad we were able to make it happen for our customers! The support from the customers I see time and time again is one of the best things about these autograph signings.

    A First for Jake

By now, autograph signings come like second nature to me. And most of the time I assume they do to the players too. But when we hosted our Jakub Voracek signing it was completely different. He seemed a little apprehensive at first about how to interact, but he quickly caught on that all those people were there as huge Flyers fans who had possibly never meet him before.
This was Jake’s first ever public signing and a long time in the making for us at Carl’s Cards. Not really knowing how Jake would be, it was going to be a learning experience for all. But when Jake showed up 15 minutes early we had a feeling it was going to be a good one. And it was. From the first person he encountered to the very last customer at the dot of 8 o’clock, Jake greeted, took pictures and signed for them all. He was welcoming, caring about how and where he signed each item and most of all he was accommodating. He wanted people to get a nice photo with him, he wanted people to enjoy their encounter with him at our store and that means a lot. And that’s exactly what the makerting rep that was with him was hoping for.
Our signings are only as good as the player we have and Jake helped this one succeed. He cracked jokes, even towards me, claiming I didn’t know how to work a camera. It was a fun signing and I wish they all could be like that one. Either way, thank you to everyone who came out for this signing. We appreciate the support very much.

    The Great Mark Recchi

Three time Stanley Cup Champion. Future Hall of Famer. Living Hockey Legend. Did you miss the Mark Recchi autograph signing? If so, I’m sorry to say, but it was fantastic. Not only is he a legend in his sport, but he is an extremely nice person. After the signing was over, we were talking about how it went and we decided Mark is a combination of John LeClair and Jeremy Roenick. And that is a very good comparsion. He wasn’t as reserved as LeClair, but he wasn’t as outgoing as Roenick. He was a nice mix of both.
Over 250 people came out to meet the living legend on Saturday afternoon and it was enjoyable for all.
Mark flew in from Pittsburgh to spend the day with us at CCC and we had an awesome time having him. The signing started a little earlier than noon, which allowed us to move the line through a little faster than usually. Then until about a little after 2 p.m., people came and went, which allowed everyone who wanted to get their picture taken with him to do so. After the signing was over and Comcast Sportsnet finished their interview, Mark spent the next half hour standing behind our counter watching the Flyers game and talking to customers who just happened to come in. What a nice surprise to our customers that must have been!
As we continue to bring you the best signings we possibly can, we hope you enjoyed this one. We look forward to seeing you at our next one, Jakub Voracek!
